Gateway distribution partnership to expand ADB North American reach

As the region becomes of greater strategic importance as it adds further value to its range of connected home solutions, ADB has announced a new partnership deal to provide gateway solutions for North American operators.

In the first of what is hoped to be a number of deals, the Swiss-based firmhas signed adistribution contract with Adams Cable Equipment (ACE) which offers inventory management solutions as well as working with broadband-related customer premise equipment to develop customer specific solutions for operators.

Under the terms of the deal, ACE will sell exclusively ADB’s P.DGA4001N WiFi ADSL2+ gateway in North America and enable telcos to offer subscribers a high-speed broadband access and home connectivity solution. ADB’s home gateways are optionally equipped with the Epicentro, software platform, which allows service providers to deploy software modules and applications via transparent remote management. This is said to be able to allow upsell opportunities for operators on already installed hardware.

Possible value-added connected home services include home automation, wellness, data storage and security, energy management, home surveillance and self-care. Through the partnership, says ADB, ACE customers will have access to advanced devices that will expand subscribers’ experience.

“US pay-TV operators, like their counterparts in other major TV markets, are challenged with meeting increased subscriber demand for higher-quality services and new connected experiences,” said Francesco Schiavinato, Executive Vice President of Broadband Division at ADB.

This distribution partnership with Adams Cable Equipment gives us the ability to bring our solutions and services to more operators throughout North America.”
