Kabel Deutschland grows with pay-TV

Germany's largest cable operator Kabel Deutschland has won further customers for its triple play products in Q1 of its business year 2012/13, with growth being especially strong in the areas of pay-TV, HD PVR and commercial HD channels.
1.7 million customers subscribed to Internet and telephony from Kabel Deutschland on 30 June 2012 (30 June 2011: 1.4 million). 65,000 new Internet and telephony customers were added in the three months from 1 April to 30 June 2012.
The number of premium TV subscriptions (pay-TV and HD PVR) rose by 465,000 to 1.8 million in the past 12 months. 688,000 customers are now signed up for the HD versions of commercial free-to-air channels which have been available for an additional monthly fee since October 2011.
84% of the total of 15.3 million households Kabel Deutschland's cable network reaches technically were upgraded for Internet and telephony on 30 June 2012. 10 million of these households are served with the DOCSIS 3.0 standard which enables an internet speed of 100 Mbit/s.
