Viasat Broadcasting has extended the exclusive pay-TV broadcast rights and acquired online rights for the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

In addition, it has acquired the exclusive free-TV rights for Latvia from the upcoming 2012-13 season until the end of the 2-14-15 season.

The KHL was established in 2008 and is widely considered the strongest hockey league in Europe, with teams not only from Russia, CIS and Latvia but also the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
