GMC TV Studios in Atlanta has hosted its first production, for the ASPiRE cable network's 'Groundbreaking Movies' programming block. GMC TV's studio facilities are providing operations, affiliate and ad support for ASPiRE, the new network launched in June by Magic Johnson Enterprises.
"We have been eagerly anticipating the christening of GMC TV Studios since we started working on designs many months ago," said Rex Humbard, GMC TV's senior vice president of production and operations. "To be able to do our first production for ASPiRE's Groundbreaking Movies programming block is an exciting way to get started, and a great first step in establishing GMC TV Studios as one of the region's premier facilities of its kind."
GMC TV Studios so far has been signed to provide full-service production for the GMC TV family programming network and ASPiRE originals, music performances, host shoots and on-air promos.
The multi-camera studio includes editing and graphics suites, a studio, control room and green room. It is capable of producing both live-on-tape and film-style content.
ASPiRE launched in June as a television network targeted to African Americans, offering a diverse programming mix of movies, series and specials featuring music, comedy, drama, faith/inspiration, theater/performing arts, lifestyle and news/information.
