Youku Tudou appoints two new board directors

Chinese internet television company Youku Tudou has announced that Gary Wei Wang and Jixun Foo have been appointed to the company's board of directors, following the merger of Tudou and Two Merger Sub, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

Following the appointments of Wang and Foo, the company has nine board directors with five of them being independent directors.

Wang is the founder of internet video company Tudou and was the chairman and CEO of Tudou prior to the completion of the merger. Prior to founding Tudou, he was the corporate development director of Bertelsmann Group, an international media company, and also managing director of Bertelsmann Online China, a company operating the e-commerce businesses of Bertelsmann Group in China, from 2003 to 2005.

Foo is a partner at GGV Capital, which was a pre-IPO investor in Tudou. He joined GGV Capital in 2006 and has more than 12 years experience in venture capital investing and working with Asian entrepreneurs. He serves on the board of directors of a number of GGV Capital portfolio companies.
