Venevision International's telenovela Eva Luna is to premiere on Japanese pay-TV channel TBS this weekend.

The love story starring Blanca Soto and Guy Ecker has already enjoyed success in parts of Asia, the Middle East, North America, Latin America and Europe. TBS has dubbed 26x1-hour episodes of the telenovela in Japanese.

In addition to being broadcast on TBS, it will be available in Japan through VOD and video streaming online and on and mobile devices.

"After conquering most of the regions of the world, Eva Luna now becomes the first Latin telenovela to be broadcasted by TBS in its distinguished 60-year history," said Cesar Diaz, VP of sales for Venevision International.

"This is not only an accomplishment for the highly-successful novela, it represents a major stride in the globalisation of our products as we continue to make significant inroads in Asia thanks in great part to the quality and integrity of our productions."
