Global IPTV service provider iTV.cn has announced the official launch of Asia sports channel One World Sports on its North America platform (www.iTV.cn). It is the first 24/7 specialised sports channel to be launched on IPTV in North America dedicated to servicing the overseas Asian community.
One World Sports broadcasts in English a number of top events from Asia to the North American audience, including football, basketball, badminton, gymnastics, diving, swimming, cricket, baseball, golf and snooker.
iTV.cn was invested by UTStarcom. In 2011, it launched an IPTV service in North America, which enables multi-device viewing including set-top-box and TV, PC, iPad and iPhone. With One World Sports on iTV.cn, homes equipped with broadband internet in the US and Canada can order iTV.cn services
Billy Tianbo Huang, general manager of iTV.cn, said: "With the co-operation of One World Sport, we are pleased to provide the world's first IPTV service showing top sports events in Asia to Asian audiences in North America. We look forward to deepening the co-operation with One World Sport so as to provide better products and services to the global audiences."
Rick Jemison, senior VP of programming at One World Sports, added: "We are delighted to co-operate with iTV.cn and increase our subscribers throughout North America. I believe our wonderful sports programmes offer an extraordinary viewing experience for our viewers and the One World Sports subscriber base."
