Livestream eliminates video stream ads

Streaming provider Livestream is eliminating advertising from its entry-level streaming tier for event producers and other video broadcasters. Users with a Livestream account can tune in for ad-free video streams.

Now, partners can stream their video feeds for free--before, to eliminate prerolls and the like, customers paid Livestream $269 per month to remove ads. Livestream is requiring that it's the only streaming source for the ad-free material however: customers can't also embed the video in their own sites.
Livestream said that it will take a page from social networks like Twitter and Facebook, making money by promoting publishers and their events.
