Eurosport España grows 56%

Even though it has been recently dumped by leading cable; operator ONO, the Eurosport offering grows in Spain.
Not only has Eurosport España experienced a gradual increase in the annual average audience for the past three years, it experienced a peak this summer, with an increase of 56% compared to the average audience obtained during the same period in 2011.
Among the most followed events in 2012 include tennis as Roland Garros, where the average audience increased more than 100% compared to 2011; the Olympics, a 3x growth compared with the average audience of the channel in 2012; and the Tour of Spain where the average audience increase over last year's edition has been 67%.
The channel also claimed high audience figures the Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, the European Under-19 football and the recent U.S. Open, completing a summer with big events and distributed over television, Internet, mobile and tablets. Yet the growing availability has been cited as the key driver of growth.
