In the latest of the content deals that the IT giant has struck as it ramps up the content proposition of its IPTV service, Google Fiber has addedreligious channels Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) and Enlace to its channel line-up
TBN claims to be the largest broadcaster of its genre and that it was one of the first networks to utilise satellite technology to broadcast Christian television across the US and around the world. TBN was also among the first to offer offering faith-and-family programming to viewers via the Internet both through streaming technology and video on demand (VOD). It has recently added smart phone apps as well as its iTBN online video portal.
For Google Fiber TBN will offer its flagship network along with its affiliated Enlace Spanish language Christian channel to the channel line-up.
"We're thrilled to join this innovative advance in Internet and broadcast technology," said Matt Crouch, TBN's Vice President of Administration. "Since our launch nearly 40 years ago, TBN has made it a priority to stay on the leading edge of industry standards. Google is raising the bar for Internet speed and broadcast clarity, and TBN is proud to be one of the select networks Google Fiber subscribers will enjoy."
