German international public channel Deutsche Welle (DW) is growing throughout Latin America, as it adds to its Spanish language programming.
"As an international broadcaster, we currently broadcast content in 30 languages. Latin America as a region is important for us, so we decided to create a Spanish channel," the company stated. Its languages include English, German, Arabic and Spanish.
The broadcaster is also preparing to start HDTV transmissions in Latin America.
“We already produce content in HD, but most of the markets that receive our signals are not quite ready to receive it, so we are waiting for the market to develop more," said the channel’s executives.
