Azteca launches 2 TV networks in Ecuador

Azteca has launched two Spanish-language pay-TV networks on TV Cable in Ecuador: Azteca International and its 24-hour telenovelas network, Azteca Novelas.
The Azteca signals use content from its local Mexican channels, Azteca 13 and Azteca 7, including telenovelas, game shows,musicals, light entertainment, news programmes, top series, reality shows and soccer games for example will be available from the Azteca International network. The family-driven Azteca 13 and the mid- to high-income and youth-focused Azteca 7 cover 97% and 95% of Mexican television households respectively.
The deal was executed by Comarex, Azteca's exclusive distribution partner, which also offers Azteca International and Azteca Novelas in other parts of Latin America, Puerto Rico, Europe and Canada.
Azteca, one of the world's largest producers of Spanish-language television programming, generates more than 10,000 hours of content per year that it distributes through 300-plus owned stations throughout the region. It has been in expansion mode of late, recently launching the Proyecto 40 over-the-air UHF channel that brings cultural, social, economic and political Mexican opinion leaders together, and Azteca America, the fastest growing Hispanic television net in the United States.
