Independent content distribution company Echo Bridge Entertainment has licensed the first two seasons of the drama series The LA Complex to MTV International.
Both will air on MTV's international channels in more than 170 territories around the globe including Scandinavia, Latin America, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Africa, Poland and Italy. MTV is planning a 2013 international broadcast launch.
"The LA Complex offers viewers a smart, honest and at times funny depiction of Hollywood life and shines the light on the absurdities of trying to 'make it' through great relatable character story telling," said David Booth, senior vice president of MTV content and programming for Viacom International Media Networks. "Above all, it is an exciting and very entertaining show that will connect with our viewers on MTV around the world."
Epitome Pictures' The L.A. Complex premiered on The CW in the United States in April 2012. The series is also one of the top performing shows across digital platforms, such as Hulu.
"This deal is an example of what makes the television industry so exciting. With MTV International's phenomenal distribution, The L.A. Complex will have the benefit of wide exposure in multiple regions around the world," said Dan March, president of international at MTV. "This will ensure that this great show will have the best chance to resonate with international audiences."
