Ryder Cup holes a record-breaking weekend for Sky Go

The gripping events from the Ryder Cup at Medinah may have been an unexpected success for Europe’s golfers but were also an undoubted triumph for UK rights holder Sky Sports and in particular its Sky Go service.
Figures released have revealed that Sky Sports coverage attracted a record-breaking 700,000 online and mobile viewers for the multi-platform TV offering— available on a range of internet-connected devices including the iPad, iPhone and selected Android smartphones — as part of nearly five million TV viewers across all of the Sky Sports platforms.

As the exciting dénouement unfolded on the Sunday evening of the tournament, a peak audience of more than 200,000 were watching over online TV or on mobile through the service. Complementing the Sky Go viewers were 900,000 visitors to the Sky Sports website and mobile phone apps. A further 174,000 Sky customers accessed the interactive coverage of the tournament through the red button on their Sky+ HD box.
