Media engagement company Shazam has formed a partnership with Ireland’s sole multiplatform advertising network, Adforce.ie, to launch a Shazam TV service, being the primary advertising distributor for the Republic.
Established in 2009, Adforce.ie operates Ireland’s only multiplatform advertising network. It provides a single point of contact for media agencies and brands wishing to buy advertising across mobile and websites, mobile applications, social media platforms and online video. The network includes online websites and applications in the Republic and Northern Ireland including BBC.com, RTE.ie and Premierleague.com.
Under the terms of the agreement, Adforce.ie will sell both Shazam for TV advertising as well as in-app advertising opportunities. The Shazam for TV service has been integrated into advertisements in the US for more than 18 months with more than 140 campaigns worldwide to create a custom second-screen interactive experience. It has been included in campaigns by global A-List companies such as Sony, Procter & Gamble, Pepsi, Toyota, and Smirnoff. Recently, the service has also expanded into Australia, the UK and Western Europe, as well.
Commented Miles Lewis, Shazam’s VP of Ad Sales: “We are delighted to work with Adforce.ie to bring Shazam-enabled ads to the Irish market. This will empower leading consumer brands to connect with our millions of fans who will be able to experience an extended engagement using the second screen - one of the newest and most convenient and innovative ways possible.”
Added Kevin Foley, Commercial Director at Adforce.ie believes that, “Working with Shazam means we can once again bring innovative advertising options to the market in Ireland. Shazam offers the ability for greater interaction with other popular media sources like TV and radio. The 30-second TV ad can live beyond that limited timeframe to engage customers further with bonus content in the form of additional information, vouchers, competitions and more. This partnership means that TV buyers and ad agencies in Ireland now have a very compelling media engagement solution for its clients using what is a clear market leader.”
