Nonlinear TV consumption gains ground in Colombia

A study by Colombia’s Business Bureau has revealed that although the TV is still the main screen, nonlinear media consumption is rapidly gaining ground in Colombia.
Furthermore, the ‘Manifesto of New Media’ in Colombia reveals that 78% of the audience does other activities while watching TV and that the use of second screens and consumption of nonlinear TV is gaining grounds in the country.
"The results obtained in Colombia added evidence supporting the theory that there is, increasingly, a new television culture that involves sitting in front of the screen with a notebook, tablet or mobile phone," says the study, adding that the emerging new media star in an event that requires companies to embark on the search for a different business model.
