Studio Universal and Universal Channel launch in HD in Africa

One year after its launch in Africa on pay-TV platform DStv, Studio Universal has launched in high definition on the platform; Universal Channel also launched in HD.

Since launch in October 2011, Studio Universal's audience in South Africa has more than tripled, while Universal Channel's audience has grown consistently year on year, for the past three years, increasing by 60% in January to September 2012 compared with 2010.

Universal Channel offers international drama, comedy and crimes series and its autumn line-up includes the premieres of the season finale of Law & Order as well as a new, exclusive season of Rookie Blue.

Studio Universal and Universal Channel reach 51 countries across Africa on MultiChoice's digital satellite platform DStv.
