The French online TV market has risen this year with new forecasts showing a near to 70% growth compared with 2011.

According to a NPA/GfK study, 3.5 billion programmes will be requested at the end of 2012 compared with the 3 billion previously thought.

Since January, 2.05 billion videos have already been watched online. This includes catch-up TV, live viewing and bonus.

Both institutes agree that the French online TV market is not fully mature yet and shows strong growth margins. Indeed the catch-up TV figures do not include all TV programming and six new free DTT channels are still to be launched. The market will also likely be driven by the strong rise of tablets.
