Comcast has become the first pay-TV provider to bring content from the CW network to its video on-demand (VOD) portal, Xfinity On Demand, bringing the six-year-old network on par with its broadcast brethren, who have offered cable and satellite catch-up TV for months.

"Our customers turn to Xfinity On Demand for the latest and most popular programs, and now we're pleased to add The CW's popular primetime lineup to our offerings," said Comcast senior vice president Matt Strauss. "We're committed to giving customers access to the best and newest TV shows when they -- want, at their fingertips."

The four most-recent episodes of each CW series -- including The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Gossip Girl, America's Next Top Model and popular freshman Arrow -- will be available for streaming, each starting the day after their original TV air date.

"We're very excited to partner with Comcast to offer our viewers another platform where they can watch their favorite CW shows," said CW executive vice president John Maatta. "With our primetime series now available on Xfinity On Demand, The CW will continue to expand its reach as well as provide our advertisers an opportunity to deliver their message to even more viewers."
