As of 2 November, French-speaking international news channel TV5Monde will add Spanish subtitles to its programming in Spain thus offering the eighth subtitle language in Europe after English, French, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Romanian and Russian.

Adding subtitles in Spanish is part of TV5Monde’s three-year old strategy to strengthen the number and the volume of subtitle languages so as to expand linear distribution and reach new audiences.

Around 30% of Spanish viewers recognise TV5Monde which can be received by 96% of pay-TV subscribers in the country.
