AMC/Sundance Channel Global has set up a new Asian headquarters in Singapore, where it will manage its on-air creative and scheduling services.
The company has also increased its programming for Asia, and has acquired the rights to a number of series and films including the Asian TV premiere rights for the new Rolling Stones documentary Crossfire Hurricane, as well as Downton Abbey, Monk and The Hour.
Bruce Tuchman, AMC/Sundance Channel Global's president, said: “After a tremendous amount of distribution growth and success with our original productions such as Breaking Bad, it is the natural next step for us to augment our localisation by establishing both creative and distribution headquarters in Asia. With highly experienced personnel and world-class resources on the ground, we will move even closer to our audiences and partners, thereby further accelerating our growth.”
