Deutsche Telekom maintains IPTV growth

Deutsche Telekom has managed to increase the number of customers for its IPTV platform Entertain despite the loss of the football Bundesliga rights with 76,000 new households signing up for the German telco's TV offering in Q3 2012.
In total, Entertain now has 1.9 million customers - a growth of 39% compared with one year ago (30 September 2011: 1.4 million customers).
With the rising figures, Deutsche Telekom is on course to reach its 2012 year-end target of 2 million customers.
With pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland being the sole owner of the pay-TV rights for the Bundesliga from the 2013/14 season (http://www.rapidtvnews.com/index.php...aboration.html), Telekom will have to close down its own Bundesliga package LIGA total!, but hopes to reach a collaboration agreement with Sky.
