Spain’s Telefónica has 760,000 pay-TV subscribers in its home market at the end of the third quarter, while its retail fixed broadband access total stood at 5.6 million.

Its revenues in Spain for the first nine months of the year were, at €11,364 million, 12.9% lower than in the same period in 2011.

However, OIBDA rose from €3,332 million to €5,120 million over the same period.

Elsewhere in Europe, Telefónica had a welcome boost in the Czech Republic, where its pay-TV subscriber total at end of September stood at 140,000, a 7% increase on a year earlier.

The group as a whole, which also has extensive interests in Latin America, achieved a consolidated net profit of €3,455 million in the first nine months of this year, or 26.4% more than a year.
