The inaugural Asian Animation Summit will see the launch of 36 new animated TV projects from Australia, Malaysia, Korea and Singapore. The summit will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 10-11 December.
The projects fall into two categories: partially financed, which are fully developed projects that have already raised at least 15% of their budgets, and are seeking further financing; and in development, which are projects in development that have secured the endorsement of an Asian broadcaster and are seeking co-producers and/or broadcaster and distributor support for further development and production funding.
The partially-financed selections include:
Circus Show – Studio Gale (Korea)
Fantastic Forest – Chocolate Liberation Front (Australia)
Oddbods – One Animation (Singapore)
Origanimals – Giggle Garage (Malaysia)
Skyrunners – Beyond Screen Productions (Australia)
The in development selections include:
Babyccino – mememe productions (Australia)
Beat Band – Grafizix (Korea)
Little Kalari Warriors – Toonz Entertainment (Singapore)
Niubizi – One Animation (Singapore)
Sunsastera – The R&D Studio (Malaysia)
Survival in the Jungle – Electric Circus (Korea)
An initiative of Australia’s ABC TV, Korea’s KOCCA and Malaysia’s MDeC, the Asian Animation Summit is produced and owned by Kidscreen. Over the two-day event, each project will be presented in a moderated live pitch and Q&A format, with plenty of time for follow-up meetings and casual networking built into the schedule.
