Chris Houston is calling foul on the Minnesota Vikings.
The Detroit Lions cornerback suffered an ankle injury during Sunday's 34-24 loss to Minnesota. Houston went down during Adrian Peterson's 61-yard touchdown run and says a Vikings player pounced on him intentionally.
"Lineman just fell on my ankle on purpose," Houston told "I went to cut him, and as he went down, he put both knees on my ankle on purpose. It's part of the game."
Houston said the ankle is fine and he isn't naming names, mainly because he isn't certain which big ugly crashed down on him.
"I was on the ground, so I didn't get to see who it was, but as he pulled, I cut him, he was flying over the top of me, and you could feel him land on my ankle on purpose," Houston said.
It's a scenario that doesn't seem all that improbable or unusual in the NFL. Houston said so himself, but it's the least of Detroit's worries at the moment. The Lions fell to 4-5 with the loss and must put it behind them -- they face the Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans over the next two games, a challenging stretch likely to decide their fate in this uneven season.
