C More steps up in Nordic VOD, OTT battle with new Miramax deal

As it seeks to remain competitive against HBO Nordic and Netflix in the Nordic over-the-top (OTT) and VOD stakes, C More Entertainment has improved its own position with into a licensing agreement with Miramax.
As part of the new deal, for which specific terms have not been disclosed, a broad array of Miramax modern classic films will be made available to C More’s linear channels and the C More Play streaming service which is available in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland on computers, tablets and mobile phones.
Specific Miramax titles will include There Will Be Blood, The Cider House Rules, Chocolat, Chicago, Jackie Brown, The Hours and Scream.
Commenting on the new deal, the company’s SVP global digital, Beth Minehart, said: “C More is a strong platform serving the Nordic region, and we are very pleased to add C More to our list of outstanding international partners who are bringing Miramax films to audiences in traditional and new ways.”
