Francophone Africa has delivered an additional 170,000 subscribers to the Canal+ Group in the first nine months of 2012.

The Paris-based pay-TV provider recorded revenues of 3,647 million, a 2.4% increase compared to the first nine months of 2011.

Including Africa, Canal+ France’s portfolio recorded a net growth of 237,000 subscriptions.

In a statement, Canal said the relaunch of Direct 8 and Direct Star as D8 and D17, following their acquisition from Bolloré, had already resulted in increased revenues.
