The Bulgarian national transmission company NURTS has awarded Harris Corporation a contract worth nearly $8 million (6.27 million) to assist in spreading DTT services to more sparsely populated rural parts of the country.

Working alongside its Bulgarian dealer New Tek, it will supply 196 transmission sites with DVB-T air-cooled transmitters and low-powered gap filler systems.
Bulgaria is aiming to conclude its much-troubled transition to digital broadcasting early next year.
