Videoplaza beefs up executive team

In order to facilitate what it claims is "rapid growth and ambitious product development", global sell-side ad management platform provider Videoplaza has boosted its executive team.
Specifically, former Brightcove founding executive Rags Gupta has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer, while Maria Flores Portillo, former Google executive, has assumed the role of Vice President, New Business, and Jonas Flodh from Tradedoubler has become the new VP of Product.
Over the past 12 months, the UK-based Videoplaza has opened new offices in Madrid, Berlin and Singapore to better service a global customer network, which now covers 25 markets worldwide.
The company regards the appointments as a result of what it claims is 400% growth in demand for video monetisation with a quarter of traffic across its Karbon ad management platform delivered to non-PC devices such as mobiles, smartphones, tablets, game consoles, IPTV and connected TVs. This latter trend, it says, demonstrates the increased emphasis that broadcasters, publishers and brands are now placing on IP-connected devices as a way to reach their connected audience.
“Our business is scaling rapidly as publishers and broadcasters want to maximise the IP-delivered video opportunity, so as a company we need to have the most talented people on board who not only share our passion, but also our vision” explained Videoplaza CEO Sorosh Tavakoli.
“Rags’ experience and expertise in taking high-growth business to a greater international level will be invaluable in supporting our aggressive growth plan. With a focus on partnerships, product innovation and commercial operations, our new team members will play a strategic role in shaping the company’s success in the next 18-24 months.”
