France achieves over 23.6 million subs for broadband

France had clocked up more than 23.63 million subscriptions to high-speed and very high-speed broadband Internet by the end of September of 2012.
According to quarterly figures released by telecom regulatory body Arcep, this is a growth of 314,000 subs over three months, and 1.3 million one over one year. Arcep forecasts the 24 million subscription mark will be passed at the end of this year.
High-speed broadband subscribers are a majority, representing 22.14 million, and very high-speed broadband, driven by fibre subscriptions, account for 1.49 million, 17% of the total number of fibre homes passed.
