2012 will end as an annus mirabilis for Elemental Technologies which has reported a 100% year-over-year revenue increase and doubling in customer base.
With key customer wins such as the BBC, Columbus Communications, Media Prima, NHK and Red Bee, the multiscreen content delivery solutions supplier added that it witnessed growth globally across both live and on-demand platforms. It now boasts more than 250 leading media franchises across nearly 40 countries.
Elemental pressed home its advantage during the 2012 Olympic Games being engaged by the likes of HBO, Comcast, and ESPN to create and stream content for multi-screen delivery. International sales were a key focus during the year for the Portland Oregon company which opened offices in Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America that were all said to have closed “significant” pay-TV and broadcast multi-screen supplier agreements in 2012. Elemental added that growth was also driven by trends in content viewing behaviour as consumers increasingly shift to watching streamed content on TVs, smartphones, tablets and computers.
“By any measure, 2012 has been outstanding for Elemental – a gratifying endorsement of our sustainable growth strategy and best-in-class product line. Sales of our flagship Elemental Server and Elemental Live systems accelerated, and our recently launched Elemental Stream solution is off to a strong start,” said Sam Blackman, CEO and co-founder of Elemental. “We are grateful that so many customers have entrusted us with the critical responsibility of powering their innovative multi-screen, over-the-top (OTT) and TV Everywhere deployments.”
