Viasat has launched a premium subscription video on demand (SVOD) package on its Viaplay service in Russia.

Available for R395 (€9.79) a month, it includes access to exclusive content from four major Hollywood studios – Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, Sony Pictures Television, Warner Bros and NBCUniversal International Television Distribution – with whom Viasat has signed multi-year licensing agreements.

These enable subscribers to access premium high-quality movies as close to their box office release dates as possible for a number of years to come.

Technically, the package is now available for iOS, so subscribers can access content from iPhone, iPad and iPad Touch, with Android being made available in the near future.

Viaplay is also launching a ‘Download-to-go-service’ that enables Viaplay users to download and access content offline on their iPhone or iPad for up to 30 days after the initial download.
