The number of quality Malaysian film and TV programmes ready for global release brought to the 13th Asia Television Forum (ATF) 2012 has doubled to more than 200 compared with last year's.
National Film Development Corporation of Malaysia (Finas) chairman Datuk Md Afendi Datuk Hamdan told Bernama that the increase was a reiteration of the dynamic growth of the Asian content market.
"We are very happy again this year. Last year, we had about 40 companies taking part, and this year we have 50," he said.
"The objective of the Malaysian contingent this year is to put innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship at the forefront of the global film and multimedia content supply chain and make this industry a prominent engine of growth and a high contributor to the national GDP."
