Positioning the subscription-free streaming service well for the spike in family viewing over the holiday period, blinkbox has upped its children’s TV shows after deals with eOne, Aardman, Lionsgate and Cookie Jar.
The Tesco-owned VOD service has added over 7,000 titles to its catalogue in the last six months and means that has rights to programmes such as Peppa Pig (eOne), Shaun the Sheep (Aardman), The Adventures of Paddington Bear, Johnny Test (Cookie Jar) and Poppy Cat (Lionsgate).
The shows can be accessed on a range of connected devices including the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 (PS3) game consoles, tablets and smart devices such as TVs, Blu-ray players, set top boxes as well as PCs and Macs.
Commenting on the move, Michael Comish, CEO Tesco Digital Entertainment, said: “We are thrilled to have some of the hottest children’s programmes on blinkbox, especially as we head into the holidays. This is good news for kids and parents alike.”
