As well as a 16% jump in awareness of connected TV over a year, 70% of French viewers can now get connected TV services through a dedicated device.
According to the CSA Institute and NPA Council, 61% of those polled in October said they knew about connected TV, compared to 45% at the same period in 2011.
Conducted on a 2,000-strong panel, which had access to high speed or very high speed broadband, the study concentrated on homes able to connect via a new generation box, a connected TV set, a game console, Blu-ray player or an OTT box.
Asked about second screen usage, 76% of respondents confirm they use a second screen when watching TV. Out of this number, 46% are using a second screen in relation to the TV programme.
