Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy passed concussion tests Monday, but there have been contradictory reports about their availability for Thursday night's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
WPVI-TV's Jeff Skversky reported that both players have been ruled out. Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Jeff McLane said they have not yet been ruled out.
Both Vick and McCoy must be cleared by an independent doctor before they are allowed to have contact in practice. The truth is: It is highly unlikely that Vick and McCoy will play, but the Eagles have not made it official yet. With the Eagles hosting the Bengals Thursday, there's only one day left to be cleared and get a contact-practice in.
There's no reason to rush them back with the Eagles officially eliminated from the playoffs.
UPDATE: Vick and McCoy both will practice Tuesday, head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder told reporters.
"We're not listing them as out," Burkholder said in regard to the player's availability for Thursday's game. "They're still very much alive for things and we'll see how they do today and take it day by day."
