Hispasat's new satellite for Latin America, called Amazonas 3, is currently going through its final construction phase.
The official launch will be at the beginning of next year from Arianespace's space centre in French Guyana, the Kourou space base. An Ariane ECA rocket will take the device, which will be placed at 61º West, into space.
The new satellite will cover the whole of the American continent, reports Tele Satelite, as well as Europe and North Africa, with 52 transmitters in the Ku, Ka and C bands.
Amazonas 3 will be the first Ka band satellite to operate in the LATAM region.
