Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano, in remission after being diagnosed with leukemia in September, will have bloodwork done on Sunday, and if all goes well in that final step, Pagano will return to work full-time with the Colts on Monday, the team said.
The Colts had set this week as the target a couple months ago. Pagano was cleared by doctors last week.
He's been at several Colts home games, but next Sunday -- assuming things go to plan -- would be his first one working since the diagnosis.
The Colts have rallied to a 9-5 record behind interim coach Bruce Arians, and are on the cusp of an AFC wild-card berth. Indianapolis clinches a playoff spot with a victory at Kansas City today.
