Vodafone Spain has announced that it will cease to transmit television as well as advertising services in order to avoid the tax that the Spanish Government has imposed on RTVE.

Before the beginning of 2013, the company will stop offering Vodafone Internet TV, Canal+, Vodafone TV, Canal+ Video and Descargas de Liga, according to Neeo.

Some company’s sources told Europa Press that Vodafone has over 100,000 mobile TV users. The same sources told the news agency that ADSL clients will receive a free subscription for six months to the VOD service Waki TV, while mobile phone users won’t have to pay for December.
