Spain's documentary channel Discovery MAX ended 2012 with a 1.5% audience share in December, up 18%, and an average share of 1.3%.

The channel's viewers are typically aged between 25 and 44.

Discovery MAX is the most watched channel on the country's DTT on Friday nights. The channel beat its historical record on 28 December by getting a 2.1% amounting to 164,000 viewers, according to the company.

Fernando Jerez, the broadcasters' CEO, commented on these results: "We have created a new successful factual category within the country's DTT. We have found the perfect balance between entertainment and apprenticeship. These figures show that TV viewers like this formula."
