German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland will add 13th Street Universal HD and Syfy Universal HD to its HDTV line-up on 17 January 2013.

The move is part of a multi-year extension of the carriage contract between Sky and the channels' parent company Universal Networks International Germany. The agreement also includes the continuation of the distribution of 13th Street and Syfy in standard definition on Sky.
13th Street HD and Syfy HD will be offered to DTH satellite households in Germany and Austria as part of basic package Sky Welt. Both channels have so far only been available via cable and IPTV, but not on satellite in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
