The financially troubled Czech stations TV Metropol and Petka (‘Five’) may shortly see a change in ownership.

According to E15, their operator Metropol is being eyed up by the entrepreneur Jaromir Soukup, whose interests include the publishing company Empresa Media and media agency Medea Group.

Metropol’s owner Lubos Mekota stopped financing it last year and the company has since been looking for an investor.

Petka is a national commercial station, while TV Metropol is a regional service based in Prague.
