    possible new major bug found!

    So i installed the latest versions of oscam it all seemed fine and good and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary... BUT... after a while of watching tv on the same channel like 30mins, the picture freezes and doesn't unfreeze and locks, unless you change channel, wait a while and come back to it... I tried this with a few peers and it happens with all of them...

    Noticed this from oscam 1.20.sv 8052-8108

    This is on oscam with cccam viewed with cccam 2.3.0

    Anyone noticed this?

    My configs:

    Re: possible new major bug found!

    looks like its the loadbalancing settings that causing this issue... i've disabled them completly and there are no problems.

    What are your working loadbalancing settings?

    And..

    If you have multiple readers.. never turn loadbalancer off...

    If you do, every request will be requested to all readers.. Causing massive load..

    Re: possible new major bug found!

    hmmm, i'm not sure what's going on... was watching tv for 1 hour this time and it ended up freezing... i'm testing, it seems like something doesn't fly, not sure what...

    1) I don't use csp, or at least a haven't got any csp shares directly... do these csp settings still need to be put in? If so what should they be?

    2) "If you have multiple readers.. never turn loadbalancer off..." Do you mean multiple local cards? I only have one local card...

    3) Also... my cache server is connected to my local card and peer server, at the moment i don't want to use the cache on the cache server as its not much and so there is no point in using it on my main local card server at the moment... what i do want to do is to share my local cache with the cache server but not recieve cache from the cache server... how can i do this?

    4) I'm ganna answer your pm here, since i have no more pm messages for the day... i get what you mean, but the thing is the cache has reduced not increased... i use to get 300-350, now i'm getting 200-250, whats up with that?!?

    Re: possible new major bug found!

    No answer, nothing?

    Yes this problem is most definatly related to the loadbalancing settings, this one in specific, this was the cause of the problem, it should be preferably higher than 12 and i had it at 1: #lb_stat_cleanup = 23

    These loadbalancing settings seem to work best for my setup:

    lb_mode = 1
    lb_save = 100
    lb_max_ecmcount = 250

    The other ones just seem to add about 100ms to the ecm time from peers... not something you want on nds.

    Is there a way to send cache from my local card to my cacheex server without recieving any cache from the cacheex server?

    Does the csp option need to be put both on the cacheex server and on my local card server? I've just placed it on the cacheex server and it seems to be fine... i'm not sure i should add it to the local card server as it increases the ecm's of my local by 100ms...

    Looks something like this:
    [csp]
    port = 12464
    wait_time = 100

    Re: possible new major bug found!

    I'm learning more and more as i go along... i've discovered a lot of the loadbalancing settings are buggy... just discovered another with lb_max_ecmcount, some channel aren't able to open up and others do... if i disable this setting, all channels work as they should... as in they are viewable on my reciever. These problems happened on (eurosport hd, skyuk, 28e), rtp1 (tvcabo,30w) and quite a few others... on different providers

    Some of the only lb_ options which i tried that work as advertised are:

    lb_mode = 1

    lb_save = 100

    There are problems with these other one's, quite a few increase the ecm time by almost 100ms, or planely just don't seem to work... this one seems like a very useful one: lb_retrylimit =, but i place varying ms numbers and it doesn't keep to it...

    lb_max_ecmcount = 1000
    lb_min_ecmcount = 3
    lb_retrylimit = 250
    lb_stat_cleanup = 23
    lb_nbest_readers = 3

    For oscam.conf, these settings seem to work best, that i've tested, these keep ecm's to the lowest possible, are the most stable (i.e. good results), the most reliable (things just work as they were intended), the ones that do something that affect the above said negatively have a "#" before it, these settings are for skyuk server by the way:

    [global]
    nice = -1
    waitforcards = 1
    #preferlocalcards = 1
    saveinithistory = 1
    failbantime = 60
    failbancount = 2
    disableuserfile = 0
    clienttimeout = 2000
    fallbacktimeout = 1700
    clientmaxidle = 0
    sleep = 300
    unlockparental = 1
    serialreadertimeout = 1000
    waitforcards_extra_delay = 3000
    readerrestartseconds = 15
    dropdups = 1
    cacheexwaittime = 75
    max_cache_time = 8
    max_cache_count = 50000
    lb_mode = 1
    lb_save = 100
    #lb_max_ecmcount = 250
    #lb_retrylimit = 500
    #lb_reopen_seconds = 120
    #lb_savepath = /var/log/oscam.lbstats
    #lb_mn_ecmcount = 3
    #lb_stat_cleanup = 23
    #lb_nbest_readers = 3
    logfile = /var/log/oscam.log
    maxlogsize = 10

    Looks something like this:
    [csp]
    port = 12464
    wait_time = 100
    Only for oscam with mixed exchange or only for watch TV you need to set correct values per caid. Mine looks like this:

    Code:
    wait_time = 0100:200:500,0500:200:500,0604:200:500,0624:200:500,0963:150:300,0B01:200:500,0D03:200:500,0D0F:200:500,0D96:200:500,4AE0:200:500,4AE1:200:500,4AEE:200:500,5581:200:500,1702:200:500,1830:200:500

    Re: possible new major bug found!

    Freezing is still there with oscam 8131 till 8135. After watching a while, the picture freezes.. Also other nasty bugs in the these builds, like "protocol not recognized", "ecm whitelist not recognized" , "keyword device not recognized" etc..
