VuMee has announced that All-Pro football wide receiver Santana Moss of the Washington Redskins has joined VuMee as a celebrity content provider.
VuMee operates a proprietary mobile and desktop video platform with iPhone and Android apps that allow users to record, share and view videos with their friends across Facebook, Twitter and SMS via a custom Mobile Push Network.
VuMee hopes to leverage celebrity users in order to drive traffic and capture a portion of the growing online advertising market, valued by Borrell Associates to be $24.5 billion this year.
"VuMee has engaged a number of significant advertising companies in the past few months and is now prepared to compete for mobile and desktop ad revenue in 2013," the company noted. "With the addition of Santana Moss, [New England Patriots linebacker] Brandon Spikes and [Baltimore Ravens linebacker] Ray Lewis, VuMee continues to expand its social following and increase its traffic."
Santana played college football for the Miami Hurricanes, where he earned All-American honours before being picked up by the New York Jets in the first round of the NFL draft in 2001.
"We welcome Santana Moss to the ever growing roster of celebrity content providers," said Michael Spiegel, CEO of the Washington DC-based VuMee.com. "To have hometown heroes like Ray Lewis and Santana Moss on board is truly something special."
