Portugal extends DTT subsidies

Portuguese communications regulator Anacom has announced plans to extend its DTT subsidy programme through until April 26, 2013 – some 12 months after the country’s analogue shutdown.
Although the final decision is yet to be officially sanctioned, when it cones the move will be backdated to December 31, so not as to interrupt the existing subsidy programme.
A €61 subsidy is given for the installation, upgrade or repointing of existing aerials. It is available to people aged 65 or over and those registered with social security.
In addition 50% of the purchase price, up to €22 is available on new DTT receivers
