Australia's Seven Network has signed an agreement with racing industry-owned broadcaster TVN for live coverage of the country's major race meetings.
Under the terms of the deal, Seven will cover key dates in the racing calendar that were formerly broadcast by Channel Nine, bringing the broadcast of all major horse races onto one network for the first time in Australia.
"The Golden Slipper, the AJC Derby, the Caulfield Cup, the Cox Plate and so many more Group 1 events will be brought to life in the one dedicated destination," said Seven chief executive Tim Worner.
TVN chairman Harold Mitchell said: "It is very satisfying that the Seven Network has recognised the value of TVN's premium racing product.
"Regular live sport on free to air is what thoroughbred racing has needed for many years - now all sports fans can enjoy the very best Spring and Autumn racing for 27 spectacular days each year."
