Children's channels are leading Brazil's pay-TV sector, with Discovery Kids being the most successful pay-TV channel for the past four years, according to research company Ibope.

The next most popular pay-TV channel was Cartoon Network, followed by Disney Channel, Globosat's Sport TV and Fox. However, Fox comes top of the channels if only prime time viewing is considered. Megapix channel remains in sixth place and the movie channel Turner's TNT is in seventh.

According to Ibope, Discovery Kids was first place among those aged four and above.

In Brazil, Globo made the decision to reduce its in-the-clear children's TV programming and launch its Gloob children's channel as a pay-TV offering.
