Sat.1 Gold, the new German free-to-air TV channel targeting women over 49, will offer an extensive catch-up service on the Internet when it launches on 17 January.

The offering, which will be financed through advertisements, will contain full-length TV series and original productions which Internet users can access free of charge.

Sat.1 Gold will initially be available via satellite on Astra (19.2° East) on the cable networks of Tele Columbus and NetCologne, and on the IPTV platforms operated by Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone, thereby reaching more than 50% of German TV households. Carriage negotiations are underway with further platform providers.
