DirecTV expands Latin America footprint for Comedy Central

DirecTV is to export Viacom's much-loved basic tier pay-TV network Comedy Central - home of hits like the Daily Show with Jon Stewart - to subscribers across Argentina, the Caribbean, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay and Venezuela,
"DirecTV has played an integral role in the distribution growth of our international channels throughout Latin America and we're excited to introduce this new offering to the market," said Rita Herring Luqué vice president of content distribution management for the Americas at Viacom. "This new deal further builds our leadership role in the pay-TV market and expands our footprint as leading providers of hit content targeting kids, youth and adult audiences. We're confident that Comedy Central Latin America will deliver the innovative and high-quality content our audiences expect."
Comedy Central will offer a range of programming, including an American television series hosted by comedian Daniel Tosh that spotlights funny and quirky viral videos, Retired at 35, which follows the life of a successful New Yorker named David who leaves NYC in the hopes of reconnecting with his parents in Florida, and Rob, the new Rob Schneider vehicle.
