Russian pay TV operator NTV Plus is planning to launch its new satellite platform for the eastern part of the country at the end of this week.

NTV Plus will launch a service targeting viewers in eastern Russia via the DirecTV-1R and Bonum-1 satellites, delivering over 95 Russian and international TV channels in the first phase.

The service will offer a basic package, dubbed Eastern Light, with 35 channels for RUB29 (€0.70), with options to add up to eight thematic packages, including factual, kids and entertainment packages, two spors packages – Sports East and Supersport East – and two movies packages – Cinema East and VIP Cinema East, with prices ranging from RUB19 for the seven-channel entertainment package to RUB199 for the Supersport East and VIP Cinema East packages, with 17 and 19 channels respectively. All packages together will cost RUB499 a month, with discounts available for subscribers who commit to six and 12-months subscripions.

The service will be available via Sagemcom and Humax receivers. NTV Plus is offering any combination for RUB10 as a promotional offer in January.
